MEADLLENNIUM 2010 is done. It was another great year for mead. Once again, we expanded the “Other Fruit Melomel” (25C) category to award medals for Dry, Semi-Sweet and Sweet, in the category. 

Every year, the judges are surprised by the quality of these meads. The vast majority of the meads scored at least 33 points and there were many that were in the 40 point range. Nobody loves a good mead more than the judges, and it was a pleasant task finding the best of the best.  A special “Thanks” to all that entered, especially our out-of-town entrants. The judges always enjoy tasting different localities honeys and meads. You are the reason we have Meadllennium! Again, the Alliance of Sommeliers provided their special lead-crystal wine glasses for us to evaluate your meads. For this, we are very grateful. Thanks, too, to all that helped with judging, stewarding, registering, tabulating and paperwork. A special thanks to the Hardy's for letting us use their charming house in the beautiful countryside.
